Hofstra University is pleased to host the Fall 2010 New York Sectional Meeting of the American Physical Society, October 15 and 16. The theme of the meeting is “Origins”, the origin of the universe, the origin of the solar system and the origin of life. The meeting will include eight to ten invited talks on origins; confirmed speakers are listed below.
We also welcome posters in any area of physics, especially from undergraduate students. Undergraduates compete for prizes from the NY Section - and of course, your students are welcome to compete. I think the meeting is a great opportunity to encourage our young scientists, and also a chance for us in New York to get together.
Hofstra University is making a special effort to welcome high school teachers to this meeting. Hofstra University will provide free registration and half of the banquet cost to the first fifty high school teachers (registration for others is $ 15). Professional development credit will be available.
Registration prices increase after 10/8/2010.
